Evanston, IL – April 11, 2022 – QuesTek Innovations, the primary operating subsidiary of QuesTek International LLC, today announced the appointment and promotion of Jiadong Gong, PhD to the position of Chief Technology Officer. In this new role, Dr. Gong will be responsible for leading the Software and Digital Technologies Group within QuesTek’s engineering team, as well as the digital transformation of QuesTek itself, through innovation and utilization of his Group’s digital outputs.

Dr. Gong has contributed strongly to QuesTek’s business and technology results during his 10-year tenure with the company. Delivering previously as a lead materials designer and methodology architect, Dr. Gong played an instrumental role in IP development for QuesTek, culminating in the companies’ 13 US Patents for advanced alloys, 4 US Patents for advanced alloys specifically for Additive Manufacturing, and 14 US patents pending for additional novel materials.
Through technical leadership of numerous services engagements, Dr. Gong also contributed centrally to the development of QuesTek’s Materials by Design® technologies, methodologies, and capabilities. Applications of these capabilities can be categorized as either Materials Concurrency (novel materials enabling novel products) or Accelerated Insertion of Materials (novel materials improving existing products). By productizing the proven software, genomic datasets, and methodology workflows from Questek’s service engagements, and packaging those assets in either an internal or external enterprise cloud, Dr. Gong and his group will be contributing to new efficiencies within QuesTek, and new opportunities for QuesTek clients to master Integrated Computational Materials Engineering within their own domains.
