EVANSTON, IL – (June 9, 2025) – QuesTek International, LLC today announced the acquisition by Thermo-Calc Software AB of QuesTek’s interest in the QuesTek-Europe joint venture in Stockholm, Sweden. This strategic move “… allows QuesTek to provide more efficient and direct services to clients utilizing its proprietary Materials by Design® technologies,” said Ray Genellie, QuesTek Vice-Chairman and Chief Legal officer.

This strategic transition marks the close of the collaboration and the beginning of a new phase for QuesTek, which remains independently active and invested in the international marketplace.

The transaction marks a pivotal step for QuesTek, enabling the company to directly deliver the full power of its innovative ICMD® software platform. “The ICMD® system embodies a next generation of CALPHAD-based ICME technology, supporting multiple CALPHAD platforms and flexible cross-disciplinary tool integration,” stated Dr. Greg Olson, MIT Professor and QuesTek Chief Science Officer.
