The 7th World Congress on Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME 2023) is set to unite researchers and practitioners from around the globe, sharing novel knowledge and technological advancements within the discipline. Presented by The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), this congress is the recognized hub of interaction among materials scientists and engineers developing new materials, as well as process engineers and materials software developers.
This year, three members of our QuesTek® team will each present at the congress, showcasing our experience and expertise in the field.
Ida Berglund, Managing Director of QuesTek® Europe AB, will lead a plenary session titled “Advancing ICME Technologies Via Strategic Collaboration while Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry.” She will highlight the benefits of applying ICME, including a science-informed understanding of material manufacturing challenges and rapid optimization of chemistry and heat treatment.
Ida’s presentation will exemplify how QuesTek has leveraged technology to resolve materials issues and balance manufacturability and performance in various alloy systems. She will share highlights from QuesTek’s strategic collaboration with entities across the value chain and our endeavors to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
In the session titled “ICMD: ICME-based Genomic Materials Design,” QuesTek® Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Jiadong Gong, will highlight the capabilities and development plans for QuesTek’s new ICMD® software platform.
My presentation will be titled, “Digital Transformation of Materials Enabled and Accelerated by ICME.” I’ll share examples of how QuesTek has been instrumental in achieving technological advancement for major corporations including recent projects for the Department of Energy on the design of high-conductivity/high-strength copper and aluminum alloys.
The World Congress on ICME is the only congress dedicated to bringing all stakeholders together from across nations, disciplines, and organizations to focus on integration priorities and gaps that need to be addressed in order to advance the field. We look forward to seeing our colleagues and friends in Orlando. Please send me a note at jsebastian@questek.com or come say hi at my presentation if you’d like to connect.
